NVIDIA 610.88 notebook comparison package
Purpose: retain the verified package and evidence for the driver comparison. Preparation did not execute the installer. Subsequent result, 17 September 2026: after explicit user authorization without a Windows restart, 610.88 is now active (KMD/GPU query, PnP and game-log evidence). The current-build manual user test nevertheless reset the GPU at 01:29:52.3631892 CEST, with a new LiveKernelEvent 117. This was D3D11 alps-02 / Low / Rain / seed 9909140 using normal EXE flags, not a matched automated Forward comparison. Installer Finish and optional-component changes were not independently observed. A subsequent NVAPI comparison confirms the four previously recorded Base/CurrentGlobal overrides unchanged, not every NVIDIA setting. See current comparison status and OS evidence.
Preparation completed at 2026-09-16T22:48:34.9695128Z: 979,651,304 bytes, Windows Authenticode status Valid, signer NVIDIA Corporation, DigiCert timestamp present. The interrupted initial transfer was resumed and the final size matches the server metadata. The installer was not executed. Detailed signature/certificate evidence is in verification.json.

The HEAD response was HTTP 200 without redirection, Content-Length: 979651304, Last-Modified: Thu, 23 Jul 2026 15:04:30 GMT. Downloading is preparation only. No publisher-supplied SHA-256 was independently located; the local digest establishes the downloaded file's identity, while Authenticode checks its signature. The EXE's version resource identifies NVIDIA Package Launcher 1.0.15; this is the wrapper version, not independent evidence of the contained driver's version.
Official NVIDIA 610.88 release notes identify this WHQL release as 28 July 2026, Windows 11/10, R610 branch, and explicitly list GeForce RTX 4060 Laptop GPU on printed page 32. Subsequent archive inspection with installed 7-Zip 25.01, without executing NVIDIA's installer, found Display.Driver\nvami.inf, DriverVer = 07/22/2026, 32.0.16.1088, and an exact declared match for this laptop's PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_28A0&SUBSYS_299D1043. Both model sections NTamd64.10.0...17134 and NTamd64.10.0...26200 include the device, using Section351 and Section352 respectively. This verifies the package's declared device support, not successful installation or a fix for Rampage. Detailed evidence is in subsystem-and-restore-evidence.json.
The historical Docs/QA/20260914-200811-track0/player.log already reports GPU-based-validation root-CBV bounds errors with NVIDIA 32.0.15.7700 (577.00). Relevant failures therefore predate 616.92. A comparison with 610.88 is not presented as a likely repair or proof of a regression introduced exclusively in 616.92. The driver's own Prefer Maximum Performance issue remains listed in both versions.
Current driver-store information supplied by the parent investigation: oem174.inf / nvami.inf version 32.0.16.1692 is current; oem6.inf / nvamsi.inf version 32.0.15.7700 is stored. The latter package is not assumed compatible merely because it is present. Preparation performs no installation, elevation, registry/profile changes, rollback or GPU workload.
A complete 616.92 notebook installer has now been copied from the NVIDIA App cache to Tools/Downloads/NVIDIA-616.92-Restore/616.92-notebook-win10-win11-64bit-international-dch-whql-g.exe. The copy verification, recorded at 2026-09-16T23:00:17.5866135Z, confirms Authenticode Valid for NVIDIA Corporation, size 793,353,272 bytes, and SHA-256 DF8681215E6F3B77145E9F0D87233348E2AEFDD5D4E3D42578F80A5253C3BC7A, identical to the inspected source. Its archived nvami.inf declares DriverVer = 09/04/2026, 32.0.16.1692 and the same exact subsystem in both model sections. The evidence JSON records source and preserved-copy paths. This reversible local copy required no separate system-change approval and does not execute the installer. Successful restoration has not been tested. The authorized interactive installation and comparison sequence is documented in driver-comparison-review.md; Windows restart remains excluded.
